ENEMIES OF THE DARKNESS

SONATINE

STATUS: Leader of the Brotherhood of Darkness

POWERS:
1) Power of suggestion - Uses a talisman to plant post-hypnotic suggestions
2) Possession - can transfer his essence into the body of another
3) Longevity - was present during the Spanish Inquisition
4) Arcane Knowledge - has access to the histories of all the Darkness bearers since Miguel Estacado, possibly previous.
5) Use of arcane artifacts - seeing pool, seeing stones, medallion, etc. Sonatine lusts for power over the Triarchy. He has at times attempted to control both the Darkness and the Angelus. His vast knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of both the Darkness and the Angelus make him a dangerous adversary who knows when to play his aces. At the moment, Sonatine's essence is trapped within the body of his assistant, Wenders.

THE ANGELUS

STATUS: Members of ancient triarchy meant to keep forces of light and Darkness in balance

POWERS:
1) Command of Angelus Warriors
2) Flight
3) Creation - can fashion familiars to serve the Prime's needs.
4) Eldritch plasma blast (equal to the sun). The most long-lived Angelus (Prime) leader claimed to have lived for 1, 200 years, and to have killed at least one Estacado every hundred years. Like the Darkness, as long as the bearer does not fall. They have the potential to live indefiinitely (Note: Conception clause may not apply to the Angelus)

THE MAGDALENA

STATUS: Holy order of assassins descended from Mary Magdalene

POWERS:
1) Use of Spear of Destiny - Artifact that pierced the body of Christ while on the Cross
2) The light of the Magdalene - ability to lay bare, and force people to face the Darkness in their soul
3) Martial and arcane training - The Magdalena seek to protect the world from evil. The first Magdalena to face the current bearer of the Darkness met her match and was crucified along with her sisters, The Magdalene. However, there is a new Magdalena who resists the forced tenets of her upbringing and has yet to face her predecessor's killer.

THE NECROBI

STATUS: Lesser race that had potential to dominate the Earth in the ancient past.

POWERS:
1) Lesser Dark Powers
2) Draws power from deviant acts and abuse of human beings. Walter Culloski was one of the most deadly killers the world had ever known. When he was freed from incarceration by Carla Denton, Cullowski attempted to overthrow the human race. Had it not been for the combined efforts of the Darkness and the Witchblade bearers, he may have succeeded. The Necrobi are natural-born enemies of the Darkness is to maintain a measure of control over the Necrobi to prevent them from taking over the world.
